Damien Gilbert

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, first became interested in film and video during his high school days at PACI. Following high school, his parents encouraged him to enroll in Confederation College's Film Production Program. This was a life-altering experience for Damien and where the fine-tuning of his craft began.

His first international placement took him to California and to 900 Films, owned and operated by an internationally renowned skateboarder, Tony Hawk. Subsequent to that, Damien worked on numerous productions in Toronto and Thunder Bay.

In 2013, Damien started Epica Pictures, which has proven to be a worldwide production company. Under this banner, Damien has shot, edited, and produced several TV shows, feature films, commercials, and music videos. Damien is also known for having shot more waterfalls in epic locations not only in Northern Ontario but around the world.

This exceptional photographer, filmmaker, and entrepreneur has been recognized for his talent; in 2006 Damien received a BEAC Award, in 2013 he was nominated by MFM for Cinematographer of the Year, and in 2018 Damien received a NOVA Civic Pride Award.
